Honestly, if you are looking for a roofer in Cork who just gets it done and gets it done right, proven roofers are the ones to call. Mike and his crew have this really calm, no-fuss energy that makes the whole thing so much less stressful than you'd expect. The house looks so pulled-together now — there's something about having a roof that actually looks the part again, the whole exterior just feels considered and solid. I've already sent photos to my sister because honestly it's the kind of result you want to show people. Would absolutely use them again without a second thought — and I already have two neighbours asking me who I used. That kind of word travelling fast says everything really. Five stars, zero hesitation.

Got in touch with Mike via WhatsApp around the first week of March after noticing the old mortar verges on the front of the house had started to crack and lift badly — not something I wanted to leave going into another wet winter. He came out that Friday to have a look, gave me a quote by the following Monday morning by text, and we had a date agreed for the third week of the month. The lads arrived on time and got straight to it. What I hadn't realised until they started stripping back the old mortar was that a previous job — done years before we bought the house — had left some of the underlying timbers in a fairly sorry state at one corner. Mike rang me himself to talk through it, which I appreciated rather than just being told at the end. They sorted it out the same day and the dry verge system went on cleanly after that. The finish looks solid and tidy. Only reason I'm not giving five stars is that the site cleanup on the first evening was a bit rushed and there was debris left along the front border that I ended up clearing myself. Minor enough, but worth mentioning. Would absolutely recommend Proven Roofing and would use them again without hesitation.

My neighbour got a cowl put on last year by some lad he found on Facebook — wrong size, badly seated, and the flaunching around the base was a mess. I used to work in construction so I notice these things. Mike from Proven roofing came out, sized it up properly, used a quality anti-downdraught cowl and the lead work around the base was done right. Night and day difference form what was done next door.

Having had previous bad experiences with a local roofer who left the job half-finished and then became impossible to contact, I did a fairly thorough round of research before committing to anyone new — checked reviews across a few platforms, asked in a couple of local Facebook groups, and compared three separate quotes. Proven roofers came up consistently, and the quote Mike provided was detailed, transparent, and — relative to one of the other quotes I received — genuinely fair for what was included. The shed roof itself is straightforward enough as jobs go, but the finish is clean, the work was completed in a single visit without any of the vague 'we'll be back next week' nonsense I'd encountered before, and the crew left the site tidy. What I'd point to above everything else, though, is that the whole experience felt professional in a way that's honestly not guaranteed with smaller contractors; communication was clear from the initial enquiry right through to completion. On balance, they've become my first call for anything roofing-related going forward, and I'd recommend them without hesitation to anyone in the county who wants the work done properly and without unnecessary stress.

Now I'll be honest, I've had lads out to the house before who you wouldnt see for dust once they had the deposit, one fellow years back left scaffolding up for three weeks and never came back to finish the ridge, so I was a bit wary going in, but Mike himself called me back fairly quick, which I wasn't expecting at all, and that set the tone really, the communication throughout was sound, he rang when he said he would, turned up when he said he would, which is more than I can say for a few others I could mention, only thing I'd say is the initial quote took a few days longer than I thought it would to come through, nothing major in the grand scheme of things, but worth mentioning, would definitely recommend Proven roofing to anyone in the area.
