Contacted Proven Roofing in early October after noticing a few slipped slates and some damaged flashing over the bay window. Mike came out within a couple of days to look at it, gave a written quote, and the price was fair — quoted €480, paid €480. Work was scheduled for the following week, two lads arrived on time, had it done in a day. Tidy enough job, no mess left behind. Would recommend, with the caveat that you should have a clear idea of the scope before they start, as any additional findings on the day will be flagged and costed separately — which is reasonable, just worth knowing.

Mike and his lads are the sort of people you'd trust with your home. I've been in this house forty-odd years and the chimney needed proper attention. The price was fair and honest, no surprises. I'd have liked a quick ring when they finished up rather than just leaving, but that's a small thing. I'd send anyone to Proven Roofing without hesitation.

So so happy with how the flat roof turned out!! Mike and the lads were absolutely brilliant from start to finish — the new roof looks so clean and neat, literally transformed the whole back extension! They left the place spotless after too which honestly made such a difference. Would absolutely recommend Proven Roofing to anyone in Cork, will definitely be using them again!!

Review of Proven Roofing

What I want to say about Proven Roofing really comes down to one thing — Mike himself, and the way he dealt with me from the very first phone call.

Being on my own since losing my husband three years ago, I'm always a bit wary about tradespeople coming to the house. You hear stories. I dont have anyone to stand over a job with me or double-check that I'm not being taken advantage of. Mike seemed to understand that without me having to explain it. He was patient, he walked me through exactly what needed doing with the roof valleys, and at no point did I feel pushed into anything.

He gave me a clear price upfront — fair, I thought, given what a neighbour of mine had paid elsewhere for something similar — and there were no surprises on the bill afterwards. That matters enormously to me.

When I asked questions, even ones that were probably very basic, he answered them properly rather than just brushing past me to get on with the work. He seemed to genuinely want me to understand what I was paying for. The job itself was done neatly and the lads who came were perfectly mannered.

I'd recommend Proven Roofing to anyone in Cork, but particularly to other women living alone who just want someone reliable and honest. That kind of straightforwardness isn't as common as it should be.

Had Proven Roofing out to replace the roof on a large storage shed at one of my units in Midleton. The finished job is clean and solid — proper felt and battening, tidy ridge work, and they left the site in good order. Mike's lads showed up when they said they would, which matters when you're trying to coordinate access around a working premises. Invoice was clear and straightforward, no surprises. The only thing I'd flag is the lead time to get them booked was a bit longer than I'd hoped, but that's probably a sign they're in demand. Would use them again and have already passed their number on to a neighbour.
