Proven roofing is the kind of company you keep in your phone for a reason. Mike and his team know what theyre doing, the work is solid, and they dont leave you chasing updates. Minor gripe: the quote took a few days longer than expected to come through. Wouldnt put me off recommending them, though.

The repair itself is what I want to talk about, because it was done properly and it shows. Mike's crew came out to sort a section of the roof that had been giving trouble — loose ridge tiles, some flashing that needed attention, and a patch of slipped slates on the back slope. Every single item was dealt with on the day, and when I walked around afterwards to have a look, the work was neat, flush, and clearly done by people who know what they are doing. The ridge tiles are bedded solidly, the flashing is clean and well-finished, and the slate work matches the existing roof far better than I expected. The whole job took the best part of a day, the team were tidy coming and going, and the garden was left exactly as they found it — which matters when you have a dog that treats the garden as her personal territory. Debris was cleared, ladders were taken down carefully, and nobody needed to be chased for anything. proven roofing would be my first call for any future roofing work, and I would recommend them to anyone in Cork without hesitation.

Got three quotes for a blocked and sagging rear gutter — Proven Roofing came in mid-range on price, but what stood out before they even arrived was the communication. Mike responded via WhatsApp with clear detail on what they'd be doing and roughly how long it would take. The other two lads I contacted were either vague or just didn't bother following up at all. A neighbour of mine had a similar job done last year by a different outfit and was still chasing them two weeks later to actually finish it. Nothing like that here — the crew showed up on the agreed morning, sorted the brackets and resealed the downpipe joint, cleared up properly after themselves and that was that. Mike sent a quick message to confirm it was all done, which sounds minor but tells you a lot about how the business is run. Would have no hesitation recommending them.

We'd been meaning to get the gutters sorted for the best part of three years, if I'm being honest. The house itself is a solid 1970s semi on the edge of Ballincollig — good bones, the kind of place that doesnt ask much of you most of the time, but the guttering along the back had started pulling away from the fascia and there was a section over the utility room that was doing absolutely nothing useful every time it rained. Anyway, the one thing that really stayed with me after Proven roofing came out was how clean the whole job looked when they left. I half expected the usual bits of old gutter and fixings scattered across the patio slabs, maybe a few screws in the flowerbed, that sort of thing. Not a trace. The lads tidied up so thoroughly that my wife actually commented on it before she'd even looked at the gutters themselves, which I thought said it all really. Everything bagged and gone. The place looked better than it did before they arrived, and the new gutters are sitting tight and level, exactly as they should be.
