Dreaded getting this done, honestly — a full new slate roof felt like a massive undertaking and I didnt know who to trust. A neighbour mentioned Barrow valley roofing and I'm so glad I listened. Pat was straightforward from the first call, no fuss, no vague estimates. The finished roof looks really well and the whole thing was done without drama. Would absolutely recommend them to anyone.

Pat and the lads did the roof valleys on our house in Callan earlier this year. Honest about what was needed, no upselling, and the quote was fair. The work itself: tidy, solid, done when they said it would be. They left the place clean behind them, which not everyone bothers with. Only reason I'm not giving five stars is the initial callback took a few days longer than I'd have liked — small thing, but worth mentioning. Beyond that, no complaints. Family-run, local, and they clearly know their trade. I'd have no hesitation putting their name forward to anyone looking for roofing work in Kilkenny. Would use again without question.

Third time we've used Barrow Valley Roofing and they dont disappoint. Pat did our guttering a few years back, then the ridge tiling, and now the valleys on the back of the house. The finish on them is neat and tidy — properly done, no shortcuts. The lads were in and out without any fuss and left the place clean after them. Would absolutely recommend to anyone in the area.

If I'm being straight about it, the reason I'd send anyone to Barrow Valley Roofing before ringing around elsewhere is simply that Pat does what he says he'll do, and that's rarer than it sounds. We had the valleys replaced in early March — I WhatsApped him on a Tuesday evening, had a response before nine the next morning, and the lads were out within the fortnight. The work itself looked exactly right when finished, neat leadwork and no mess left behind. My one small gripe is that the start date shifted by a day without much notice, which threw out my own schedule a bit. Nothing major, but worth mentioning. Overall though, I'd have no hesitation recommending Barrow Valley Roofing to anyone in the county — and yes, I'd ring Pat again myself without a second thought.

Missing tiles replaced

Honestly, the roof looks exactly as it should — you'd never know anything was ever missing. Pat's lads matched the tiles well and tidied up after themselves, which I always appreciate. Price was fair for the work done, no complaints there. Only thing I'd say is it took a couple of extra days to get started beyond what I was told, but the job itself was done properly once they were up there. Would recommend them without hesitation.
