Honestly the cleanup at the end is what I keep thinking about. Every single bit of old felt, fixings, debris — gone. The space just looked so considered after, like the whole roofline had this clean intentional finish that I dont think I expected? I took photos straight away because honestly it looked that good. Only thing — I'd have loved a quick heads up the morning they were finishing, just to be around. But the result is exactly the vision.

Engaged Pat and his crew to replace the guttering on a semi-d in Portlaoise. Quoted €X, paid €X, no deviation. During the job they noticed a section of fascia board that had gone soft behind the old guttering — flagged it, gave me a price on the spot, and sorted it the same day without any fuss. Clean enough finish overall. Only gripe is that the initial response time was a bit slow, took a few days to get a call back. Would recommend with that caveat in mind.

We had Pat and his lads out in early autumn, damp enough weather for it but they got on with it no bother, the flat roof over the back extension was well overdue a full replacement at this stage. Anyway, when they stripped it back they found the old decking underneath had a section that was soft, rotted away really, and Pat came down off the roof himself to show me, explained what needed doing and the extra cost was very reasonable all the same. No fuss made of it, just sorted. The new roof looks tidy, the fellas were clean and decent, and I'd have no hesitation recommending Barrow Valley Roofing to anyone in the county.

I'll tell you one thing, and it's Pat himself that I want to single out here, because when I rang Valley roofing after getting two other lads out who couldn't even be bothered calling me back with a quote, Pat answered the phone himself, straight away, no messing, and when he came out to look at the flat roof over the back extension he was on time, he was straight with me about what it would cost, no hidden extras added on at the end the way the last crowd did to me on a guttering job a few years back, and the price he gave me I thought was very fair altogether for the size of the job, not the cheapest I was quoted but honest money for honest work if you know what I mean.
