The reason I'd point anyone toward Barrow valley roofing isn't specifically the skylight job itself — though that was done properly, no issues since, and they were on site within about four days of me calling. It's more that the whole experience was straightforward in a way that's genuinely uncommon with trades. Pat was clear about what the problem was, didn't oversell the fix, and the lads didn't leave a mess behind them. There's no real drama to report, which is probably the point. If you're looking for a contractor in Kilkenny who turns up when they say they will and does the work without a lot of back-and-forth, they're worth contacting. I'd use them again without hesitation, and I dont say that about many.

The chimney looks solid and properly finished — repointing is clean, the flashing sits flush, and there is no trace of the crumbling mortar that had been worrying me for two winters. Pat's crew were in and out without any fuss. Would use Valley Roofing again without hesitation.

Being on my own, I'm always a bit wary about tradespeople coming to the house. Pat was straightforward from the start — gave me a clear quote and didn't push me into anything. When his lads opened up the section that was leaking, they found some rotten timber underneath that the previous crowd had left badly done. Pat came and showed me himself, explained what needed sorting, and just got on with it at a fair price. No drama made of it.
